Focus on promoting the transformation and upgrading of the new aluminum magnesium alloy and non-ferrous metal industries

On March 9th, Yuncheng City in Shanxi Province released the "14th Five Year Plan for New Technologies in Yuncheng City". The plan proposes to focus on solving scientific problems and industrial technology bottlenecks in the field of metal materials such as magnesium alloys by the end of the 14th Five Year Plan period. Efforts will be made to enhance the basic capabilities and modernization level of the new aluminum magnesium alloy and non-ferrous metal industries, support the construction of downstream industrial chains for aluminum and magnesium alloy materials, and create a highland for material industry research and development.
The plan aims to achieve breakthroughs in key common technologies such as the development of degradable magnesium alloy materials, the integration of large-scale magnesium alloy components, and the solid-liquid forming of complex magnesium alloy components, striving to form a new magnesium alloy industry cluster and industrial belt with national competitive advantages. Further increase the research and development of new magnesium alloy materials, expand the variety of deep processed magnesium alloy products, broaden the application market of magnesium alloys, promote the increase of sales revenue of deep processed magnesium alloy products, and achieve the transformation and upgrading development of the magnesium alloy industry.
The plan proposes that the key task is to mainly combine the characteristics of relevant enterprises and institutions in Yuncheng City, and carry out key breakthroughs in key core technologies in the fields of magnesium alloy and composite material technology, such as large-scale high-strength rare earth magnesium alloy, high-precision and high forming aluminum magnesium alloy, and magnesium alloy multi casting technology. Based on key enterprises in the magnesium alloy field in Yuncheng City, we will focus on promoting the research and development of key technologies such as large-scale high-strength rare earth magnesium alloys, high-precision and high forming aluminum magnesium alloys, and magnesium lithium alloy casting and forming. We will accelerate the research and industrialization process of magnesium hydride hydrogen storage technology, achieve breakthroughs in the development of new aluminum magnesium materials, promote the promotion of aluminum magnesium alloy preparation processes and complete sets of equipment at home and abroad, expand the application of aluminum magnesium alloy deep processing products in various fields such as aerospace, electronic information, and military industry, and enhance the modernization level of the aluminum magnesium industry.
The plan is clear, with a focus on achieving breakthroughs in special magnesium alloy materials such as high-strength and heat-resistant magnesium alloys, rare earth magnesium alloys, and high plasticity magnesium lithium alloys. On the basis of existing magnesium alloy applications, we will continue to expand the application market of deep processed magnesium alloy products, with 3C electronics, aerospace, military, and rail transit applications as the main application markets. We will fully leverage the performance advantages of magnesium and magnesium alloys and increase new application markets for magnesium and magnesium alloys. We will focus on developing innovative products such as magnesium alloy materials for military use, magnesium alloy extruded profiles for high-speed rail and subway, high-strength magnesium alloys for aerospace use, large-sized complex castings, high-strength heat-resistant magnesium alloy extruded profiles/forgings, magnesium alloy precision die-casting parts for 3C products, large coil weight low-cost high formability magnesium alloy plates and strips, magnesium alloy precision die-casting parts for automotive lightweighting, forged magnesium alloy automotive wheels, etc. We will continuously expand the application fields of magnesium alloys, gradually transform enterprises from primary raw material production to high-precision, cutting-edge, high-tech product production, and continuously improve product added value.
